Attention, second-year college students — Scholarship applications open now

If you got a    scholarship to attend college, you might want to apply for additional support to help continue your studies.

The Hood River Lions Club is inviting second-year college students to apply for $1,000 in financial support through the Kevin White or Patti Simpson Memorial Scholarship fund. Get an application by clicking here.

Applications are limited to students who already received a Hood River Lions Kevin White or Patti Simpson Memorial scholarship.

In addition, applicants must be a graduate of a Hood River Valley High School, have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours each term during their first year of college or enrolled as a full time student freshman year, be able to provide proof of enrollment as a second-year college student and a copy of their transcript showing completion of first year and cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. 5.

Lastly, applicants must submit a 500-word essay answering the question: What has been your most challenging adjustment to college? Essays should be double-spaced and use 12-point type.
